Bridgwater College is looking to set up a 3-year Framework Agreement to supply Engineering machinery, tools, consumables and service and maintenance. The requirement is divided into 5 lots described below. There may be up to 5 suppliers appointed to the framework.
Bridgwater College has a thriving Engineering department located in its flagship facility, the Energy Skills Centre, which was opened by the Secretary of State for Climate Change in January 2011.
Since then, the number of Engineering students at the College has more than doubled, and the training programmes on offer range from Engineering apprenticeships right through to HNCs HNDs and degree level programmes, and cover areas such as computer aided design, manufacturing and production technologies, electrical and electronic engineering, robotics and control engineering, mechanical, maintenance, welding and fabrication, aerospace or automotive. Short courses in lean, BIT, parametric solid modelling, welding, machining and CAD are also available.
To demonstrate its commitment to the promotion of engineering training in the South West, Bridgwater College is delighted to be joining the Engineering Innovation Network South West in supporting innovation for small to medium sized companies. As a leading training provider with an excellent reputation for providing business training solutions, we are delighted to be able to share our expertise in order to drive, develop and deliver business benefits to a wider range of engineering businesses, whilst giving our students some valuable industry experience
With courses ranging from computer aided design, manufacturing and production technologies, electrical and electronic engineering, robotics and control engineering, mechanical, maintenance, welding and fabrication, aerospace or automotive, we have full-time courses and apprenticeships to suit every need.
The College has a requirement to kit out a new workshop. The new workshop will be situated in our current Realistic Working Environment. It will facilitate the practical application of skills on full time, part time and apprenticeship courses for a range of learners. Within the space will be a range of engineering machinery shown below.
The deadline for delivery of this equipment will be Mid August 2014. They will need to be commissioned by Late August 2014.
The College is looking for full service and maintenance on machinery and supply of consumables. The college will require delivery, off loading, installation, commissioning and training.
The required items below are provided with a basic specification at this stage. The full specifications will be given at the tender stage. Suppliers expressing an interest must clearly state which lot or lots they are interested in.
Lot 1 Engineering tables and Coolant Mixing tank.
— 18 Hand tool Benches Heavy duty benches, 2 000 mm x 910 mm, 845 mm high, to include vices
— 1 Marking out table 40 mm thick steel
— 1 Large Coolant Mixing tank for workshop machines. It should be plumbed into the mains water supply with a small break tank to avoid contamination.
Lot 2 Engineering equipment
— 14 Lathes
— 10 Milling machines. These must include digital readouts, air brake and a full bed guard
— 1 CNC Lathe and associated IT
— 3 Floor mounted pillar drills
— 1 Hydraulic Bandsaw
— 1 Off hand Grinder
