World Class Legacy Cycling Event Concession (Non Mandatory Notice) The purpose of this contract is to seek a suitable Delivery Partner (DP) to deliver an annual cycling event to commence in 2013 and will be staged over a summer weekend(proposed 10th and 11th August in year 1) on roads closed to other traffic and consist of a family-fun orientated ride on the Saturday and a challenge ride for amateur cyclists on the Sunday. Adjacent to the challenge ride there will be an elite men’s cycle race with world class athletes giving the event international appeal. The weekend of activity will be supported with elite women’s, youth and disabled races as well as expos and creative public festival activity. The event will be a key legacy event from the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

Transport for London (TfL) is a complex organisation operating both as a functional body of the Greater London Authority (GLA) under the direction of the Mayor of London and as a provider of transport services, including providing services for Surface Transport (Streets).
This is a non- mandatory notice. The procurement of the contract(s) does not fall within the public procurement regulations and the Contracting Authority is voluntaril complying with the Public Sector Contracts Regulations 2006 by publishing this notice and may continue to follow such regulations in this procurement at its sole discretion.
The Contracting Authority is acting as a central purchasing body on behalf of itself (all members of the TfL group of companies) and the Greater London Authority and its other functional bodies (currently, the Metropolitan Police, the London Fire and Emergency Planning Authority). Any of these bodies may award a contract to the successful bidder substantially on the terms of the contract awarded by the Contracting Authority (if any).
