The clerking part of the Services includes accounting and payroll services, convening meetings, co-ordinating elections for Authority members, organising and instructing suppliers and contractors and liaising with key stakeholders including the Environment Agency, the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs and the Association of Drainage Authorities.
The engineering part of the Services includes reviewing and reporting on planning applications for the area, preparing flood reports, inspecting drains, pumping stations and any other assets to identify problems, acting on flood and heavy rainfall warnings and designing and supervising grant schemes.
The Authority is an internal drainage board governed by the Land Drainage Act 1991.
The area covered by the Authority is located on a peninsula of former marshland situated at the confluence of the River Ouse, River Aire and River Don (Dutch River). The area is very low lying below the mean water mark. The protection for the rivers is effected by flood banks maintained by the Environment Agency that are capable of withstanding a 1 in 200 year storm.
The area includes Goole Town (excluding Old Goole), Hook and Airmyn and covers 1,842 hectares, including 800 hectares of agricultural land, 24 kilometres of maintained watercourses and 5 pumping stations.

Interested economic operators should email g&atenders@addleshawgoddard.com for a link to set up an account to access the site. The other documentation includes the draft services agreement, the services specification and the award criteria that will be included in the invitation to tender.
The Authority is not bound to award any contract as a result of this procurement process.
The Authority will not be liable for any costs, expenditure, work or effort incurred by an economic operator in proceeding with or participating in this procurement process, including if this procurement process is terminated or amended by the Authority.
