Defra needs to highlight to industry the current under provision of high quality market intelligence within the food and drink sector. By procuring detailed, country specific research reports and providing them to wider industry we aim to both improve the export performance of UK businesses in these markets and to demonstrate the value of market specific intelligence, with the aim of encouraging the sector to undertake their own market research in future, either independently or via the sector deal.
