The Isle of Wight Council (‘the Authority’) is inviting organisations to apply to tender for the provision of Homecare and support on the Isle of Wight.

Potential suppliers are invited to submit tenders for one or more lots. Potential suppliers can only be successful in one lot for lots 1-3 but could be successful in one of lots 1-3 and lot 4.
The award of lots 1-3 will be done on the basis of the most economically advantageous combination of offers across all three lots. Potential suppliers must be prepared to be appointed to any lot that they bid for.
Each lot will be assigned a single supplier following the tender and evaluation process.

— physical disability,
— a learning disability,
— dementia or other memory and cognition diagnosis,
— in need of palliative and end of life care,
— specialist conditions such as brain injury, Motor Neurone Disease, etc.,
— mental health.
The services shall include the provision of care and support to individuals either wholly or partially funded by the authority or by continuing healthcare.
The supplier shall ensure that it is registered with the Care Quality Commission (CQC) at all times during the term of the contract.
The service will be provided to meet eligible social care needs of people who identified following a care act or continuing health care assessment/review or checklist across the whole Island.

Delivery of Adult Social Care within HM Prison on the Isle of Wight

From 1 April 2015 local authorities have a duty to assess and meet the eligible social care and support needs of prisoners located in their area. All adults within a prison setting will be treated as if they are resident in that local authority’s area for as long as they reside in that establishment.
The authority is therefore responsible for the assessment and delivery of care and support to meet the eligible needs for people detained in HM Prison Isle of Wight.
The authority is seeking to commission, within the prison setting, a service which will improve the person’s quality of life and maximise their long-term independence. The delivery of this service will require close working with custody services, prison health care suppliers and any voluntary sector organisations that operate within the establishment.
