English Institute of Sport (‘the EIS’) is seeking to appoint through a restricted procedure a suitably qualified and experienced provider of ICT support services. The services will compromise provision and support of Wide Area Network, Local Area Network including Wireless at our regional high performance centres, and provision of a dedicated 24-hour service desk for our 450 users. The staff are based at several performance centres in the UK, but most of the workforce regularly work away from their centres and have work patterns that are mobile and remote. A large number of staff work abroad as required by the sports we work with; their overseas travel may cover periods up to several months. As a publicly funded organisation EIS is seeking to maximise value for money, and wishes to minimise one-offset up costs as well as ongoing revenue costs.

English Institute of Sport (‘the EIS’) is seeking to appoint through a restricted procedure a suitably qualified and experienced provider of ICT Managed support services. The services will compromise support of Wide Area Network, Local Area Network including Wireless at our regional high performance centres, and provision of a dedicated 24-hour service desk for our 450 users.
The service desk will respond to service requests and problems from users, and perform agreed scheduled support activities, as detailed in the EIS operations manual.
The service desk will comprise a minimum of two dedicated staff providing two full time equivalent roles.
The service desk will operate 24/7/365 with the bulk of user activity during normal business hours.
The Wide Area Network will comprise circuits to up to 10 sites.
The EIS pioneers the delivery of science, medicine and technology services to drive medal success at olympic, paralympic and international competition, supporting elite athletes through its nationwide network of expertise and facilities. It strives to be the world-leading high performance institute. Staff are based at nine high performance centres across the UK but they deliver EIS services at different sporting locations including swimming pools, lakes, velodromes and athletic tracks.
