The design of the signs has been completed by a third party, Atkins, and as such this tender is for the manufacture, supply and installation of the products to the specification as detailed in the Tender document.
The successful supplier will be required to work with the Council, contractor (Colas) and consultant (Atkins) involved in the scheme, to deliver the final product.
There will be a requirement to replace the mapping panels throughout the life of the contract, as directed by the council and the cost for this should be included as part of your bid. The successful supplier will also be required to maintain certain elements of the products in line with the agreement i.e. repair to damaged products.
The scope of work includes, but may not be limited to;
— Manufacture totems, finger posts, fixings for the ground according to product specification supplied,
— Install products on the footpaths and footways in compliance with PCC,
— Work effectively with the Council, Colas and Atkins,
— Update mapping panels (artwork will be supplied by PCC) as required throughout the life of the contract.

The designs, including dimensions and materials, are supplied as part of the tender and have been designed by Atkins, our preferred consultant.
The successful supplier will be expected to deliver the below areas;
— Produce a design for the foundations of the signs in line with the detail given in the tender document. Designs for each of the three products must be supplied,
— Install the foundations and sign products in line with the Council’s Safety at Street works and road works policy (supplied as part of the tender) in the locations that are finally agreed and will be supplied by Atkins, but which fall within the mapped area shown in the tender document,
— Work efficiently and effectively with the council, contractor (Colas) and consultant (Atkins) thought out the life of the contract. The successful supplier will be expected to work with Atkins on designs and final locations, and Colas for installation plans and arrangements,
— Source the material and manufacture the totems and finger posts to the finally agreed designs,
— Update mapping panels as required throughout the term of the contract as directed by the Council,
— Complete the works to the activity schedule agreed, which includes the final installations that should be completed by August 2013.
Description of these options: The initial contract period will be for 3 years with an option to extend annually for 3 Years to a maximum of 6 years.
