The project is seeking to harden the grass runways (runway 07/25 and 16/24) at Lands End Aerodrome along their full length and to a width of 18 m. The project also includes the raising of the northern end of runway 16/24 with surplus arising. Surface water drainage will need to be installed with appropriate seperators/attenuation prior to discharge to soakaways/water courses. Remedial works to existing drainage will be required on runway 16/24 at both ends. The installation of a 75 m strip to the southern end of runway 16/24 will also be required. The contractor will also need to procure and install appropriate Aviation Ground Lighting (fixed lighting), Distance Measuring Equipment and Navigational Aids. Procurement of a Manual mu-meter.
