Over the last five years the University of Leeds has expanded and strengthened its research activity in Robotic and Autonomous Systems. The recently funded ‘EPSRC National Facility for Innovative Robotic Systems’ will provide a focus for wide-ranging research into the creation of physical robots. It will consist of a technology platform of state of the art equipment to facilitate the efficient design, fabrication, assembly and testing of robotic and mechatronic systems which are more flexible, adaptive and capable than existing systems.
