II.2.1)Total quantity or scope:

This requirement will be for a framework agreement to supply customer luggage trolleys and associated accessories and services. Preventative Maintenance and Callouts are rarely made due to the robust and reliable nature of the current equipment. The current trolley specification has a capacity of 250kgs, includes ad space panels, an automatic brake, a coin deposit system and a id system for each trolley. Delivery is made to one of 17 Network Rail operated stations. Accessories available include barriers, starter chains and vending systems (offering an income opportunity). A minimum twelve month warranty is currently offered. Planned Maintenance and Callout options are available.
Future systems need to include an automatic security system that locks/unlocks wheels or equivalent to prevent trolleys being removed from the station environs. Such systems should be compatible with existing trolley systems supplied by Wanzl, Middlehurst and Expresso. The requirement will be split into three lots.
The commercial arrangements agreed from this competition including price and terms, may be extended to Train Operating Companies (TOCS), Eurostar and High Speed 2 operators.
