Tender for Office Clearance and Furniture Disposal

Tender for Office Clearance and Furniture Disposal

Tender for office clearance, recycling and disposal of office furniture and other goods for Derby City Council.

Awarding body Derby City Council

Est. Start Date: 16/10/2012
Est. End Date: 14/10/2013

Derby City Council (DCC) will be moving approximately 1900 members of staff from a number of offices across the City into the refurbished Council House, as part of the Derby Workstyle Project. The purpose of this tender is to find a supplier of commercial office clearance on a cost neutral basis to the Council. The supplier will be required to clear the offices being vacated of furniture, white goods and some electronic equipment within a short timescale and maximise opportunities for recycling or community re-use. It is expected that the Supplier will apply a waste hierarchy of redundant furniture and equipment and that the disposal to landfill must be kept to a minimum. There is an expectation that a proportion of the goods cleared by the contractor should be offered to the third sector (charitable organisations), and that the potential contractor can demonstrate how they would contribute to the sustainability of the local economy through the delivery of this contract.
The schedule for office clearance is likely to run between the following periods:
Start Date: 19 November 2012
End Date: 28 February 2013
