The GP Out of Hours service will receive referrals from the NHS 111 service for patients requiring a face to face consultation at a primary care base location, or a visit by a GP or other appropriate health professional to their home.
As part of this collaborative approach to commissioning; four service areas are to be tendered for the Out of Hours Primary Care Services in Sussex and East Surrey CCGs. The four areas include the following commissioners:
Area 1: Coastal West Sussex CCG,
Area 2: Brighton & Hove CCG,
Area 3: Hastings & Rother CCG, Eastbourne, Hailsham & Seaford CCG, High Weald Lewes & Havens CCG,
Area 4: Crawley CCG, Horsham & Mid Sussex CCG, East Surrey CCG.
Each area will have slight variations to the service specification to ensure its services meet the needs of their respective populations.
The clinical commissioning groups in Sussex and East Surrey are committed to commissioning high quality healthcare services for their patients. We want to improve the health and well-being of people in Sussex and East Surrey and will pay particular attention to improving the health of:
— Children and Younger People,
— People with poor Mental Health,
— Older people,
— People who are most likely to need hospital treatment.
We also need to make sure the NHS in Sussex and East Surrey is ready to deliver the Government plans for the NHS, with over-aching strategic priorities that aim to:
— Keep their local populations healthy,
— Provide accessible care,
— Provide high quality care,
— Involve patients and the public.
A Provider Information event is to be held on the 3.7.2013, 13:00-15:00
The Hawth Ave, Crawley, West Sussex RH10 6YZ.
The event will give providers context to the tender and outline the variations between each area. It will also provide information on the procurement process and provide an opportunity for questions and answers.

The contract value or range stated is an estimate only of the value for the primary period of the contract (3 years).
Completed Prequalification Questionnaires must be submitted using the process described by no later than 17:00 hours on Monday 15.7.2013.
An electronic procurement process is being used for this procurement through the Bravo system.
