II.2.4)Description of the procurement:
NHS England as the lead commissioner is looking to co-commission with the 5 PCCs (Police and Crime Commissioners) from across the East Midlands, a Regional Paediatric Sexual Assault Service(s) (East Midlands) for a period of 3 years (with the option to extend for 2 years).
Arden and Greater East Midlands Commissioning Support Unit is leading the procurement process for this service on behalf of NHS England.
The service will be built around a programme of high quality, appropriate,
convenient and responsive care. In summary the key requirements of this
service are:
— Provision of a comprehensive paediatric sexual assault service covering
both acute and non-acute cases for children and young people up to the age
of 18; and subject to co-commissioning agreement include full forensic
medical examination (FME)
— Full utilisation of a multidisciplinary workforce to deliver a comprehensive
combined clinical and forensic service
— The service model provides scheduled non-acute clinics and an acute
response which includes a measured and appropriate approach to managing
out of hours cases, with follow-up provision as appropriate
— Referral and signposting into local services that provide care / on-going care and
support for children and young people affected by sexual violence and
sexual abuse
— Robust governance arrangements underpin service delivery including
strong clinical leadership, peer support and supervision along with
appropriate and on-going training.
