The following authorities(or establishments within) may wish to make use of this contract in future: Liverpool Council, Knowsley Council, Wirral Council, St Helens Council, HaltonCouncil, Cheshire West and Merseytravel. The contract will involve the transportation of service users between their homes or nominated pick up points and a variety of destinations including schools and day care centres.

II.2.1)Total quantity or scope:

The Authority is seeking to award a framework agreement for the provision of hired transport services (e.g. taxis,coaches and private hire .), along with the provision of passenger assistants when required, to a variety of service users initially across the Borough of Sefton, but at some future point may wish to consider collaborating with neighbouring Merseyside Authorities and consider expanding the boundary of service provision. Initiallythe successful contractor/s will be required to transport a variety of service users including schoolchildren andvulnerable adults from their homes or nominated pick up points to a variety of destinations including schoolsand day care centres as indicated by the Authority’s head of specialist transport. In certain circumstances thecontractor/s will be required to provide passenger assistants for nominated transport routes. The framework willcommence on 1.9.2013 and continue until 31.8.2015, following that there will be an option to extend for a further 2 years.
