Description
The Council requires a central database to record and monitor a wide range of children’s data. The data will support the work of the Children and Young People’s Directorate in performing statutory and other functions for a range of services including:
-Admissions
-Special Educational Needs
-Education Welfare
-Childcare and Families Information
-Specialist Teaching and Psychology
The principal source of child data is the data held by schools. All Council controlled schools have their own management information system: most primary phase schools use Pearson’s e1, while other schools use either Capita SIMS or Facility CMIS.
Most Council staff are based centrally with direct access to the Council network, although some key staff work at other sites including Children’s Centres and schools.
The system procured will need to be implemented over a short timescale to minimise the impact on service users.
The contract is for a period of eighteen months, to run from 1 October 2012 to 31 March 2014. Option to extend for a further (12) months.
