Wealden District Council (WDC) is seeking tenders to upgrade or replace its present Citrix thin client solution. Wealden has been using a thin client solution for over ten years and supplies 400 staff using Wyse terminals at their desks or remotely via a web based Citrix access gateway. The successful solution will upgrade the hardware and software solution which will supply Wealden’s staff with 99 % of its software requirements and provide support for the 5 year minimum period with an optional extension period for up to a further 5 years of the life of the project.

WDC are at present running Citrix Server 4.5 presentation server to supply desktops to our 400 users via Wyse terminals. We are looking to upgrade to the latest version of Citrix or replace with a similar product. The system supplies approximately 110 software solutions to our users and needs to be robust and resilience to meet our 99.9 % uptime requirements.
The installation and testing of all software solutions is part of the project and WDC will require training and technical assistance to our ICT staff to install ALL systems to the new solution.
The solution also needs to supply a remote access solution (presently WDC uses Citrix Access Gateway) which is also designed to be resilient and compatible with a thin client desktop solution.
The successful contractor would supply the system and provide support contract for 5 years and an optional extension period of a further 5 years of the life for the project. We would require scoping and specifications for any hardware required, but reserve the right to purchase any hardware independently.
The contractor will ensure that all licensing requirements are included as part of the tender and WDC will be looking to purchase a subscription upgrade service.
The tender will include all relevant technical training and documentation to enable WDC technicians to administer the solution.
Any solution hardware will be hosted at our Hailsham based data center and we are not seeking any web based solution.
