Worcester City Council is inviting expressions of interest for its Tourism and City Centre Services contract.
The services include:
— provision of a tourist information centre,
— delivery of promotional events aimed at increasing footfall and sales in the city centre,
— delivery of promotional activity aimed at raising the awareness of the city centre and therefore increasing tourism,
— the provision of a Christmas programme,
— a contribution towards city centre management and stakeholder engagement resulting in a joined up approach in the city to the delivery of tourism and city centre services.
The Council requires a single organisation, or a partnership, or a consortium to deliver the full range of services. The successful service provider will have previous experience of successfully delivering similar services for this or other local authorities.
The Council is intending to award a contract operating from 18th February 2013 to 31st March 2015 with an option to extend the contract for up to a further five years.
The successful service provider will retain all income generated from promotional activities and events and will be provided with a budget of GBP120000 per annum by the Council to fund delivery of the tourism and city centre services.
The Council will also provide accommodation for the Tourist Information Centre.
Service providers expressing an interest will be invited to tender a primary proposal for the delivery of these services based on the annual budget of GBP120000 and a secondary proposal based on an annual budget in excess of GBP120000.
These services are Part B services in accordance with the Public Contracts Regulations 2006 (cat. 20, CPC Ref. 74, CPV codes 63513000 and 63514000).

All service providers expressing an interest will be sent invitations to tender on Monday 18th June.
