Salford City Council is looking for a suitably qualified operator to provide a car club provision within Salford for Salford City Council staff and elected members. The Car club operator will provide corporate membership initially to approximately 1 200 members of staff and have the option to promote personal membership. The council has 4 500 members of staff as well as elected members. The operator will also provide a scheme based upon a pay as you go membership Car Club that is available to residents and businesses.

The contract is for 2 years with the option to extend for up to an additional 2 years. It is intended that the contract will commence on 1.4.2014. Any extensions will be subject to satisfactory performance, continued value for money, local authority requirements and polices, market forces and/or changes in legislation. The Council is using the e-business portal known as the Chest (www.the-chest.nwce.gov.uk) to conduct the procurement exercise. To gain access to the tender documents, applicants will need to register their details at the following link https://www.the-chest.org.uk . Once registered, applicants will be emailed a log-in and password which will allow them to gain access to the tender documents.
