Evaluation of safety continues throughout the lifetime of a medicinal product. The primary tool used by the European Medicines Agency is a large, continually updated, dataset of suspected adverse drug reactions (EudraVigilance) reported by health service staff. However, alternative sources of data are needed both to validate and complement the activities of EudraVigilance. The Agency is therefore seeking access to and use of a clinical event history database constituting various datasets drawn from the EU population.
