SCOTLAND’S HIDDEN HISTORY: POWER AND POLITICS AT THE TIME OF KING ARTHUR. FULL SPECIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS ATTACHED.

Our proposed project is based in the Scottish Borders and focuses on the 4th to 7th centuries and on the culture, life-style, technology and socio-political relations of the Brythonic (Welsh/Ancient British) speaking Yr Hen Ogledd (The Men of the North), their northern neighbours, the Scots and Picts and exploration of the Arthurian legend from a northern perspective.

Focus will be on the archaeological survey and limited excavation of pertinent areas of the Manor Valley, providing opportunities for volunteers from the local community and elsewhere to get involved in archaeological fieldwork and to learn a range of archaeological skills working with professional archaeologists.
