Along with many other fire and rescue services, Oxfordshire Fire and Rescue Service (OFRS) and Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service (RBFRS) currently each have their own separate Control functions. Both are staffed by highly trained Control operators who answer 999 calls and send fire engines and other specialist appliances to all kinds of emergencies, including road traffic collisions, chemical spillages, large animal rescues, as well as fires.
OFRS and RBFRS are now working in partnership on proposals for a new, single joint Control function in 2014. This will be a Thames Valley Fire Control Service (TVFCS). As part of this programme the two FRSs aim to procure a joint mobilising system with additional options which include a Gazetteer and GIS.

There is an option to extend the contract for a further 96 months in aggregate.
