Thought Leadership events are events where influential speakers talk in-depth, exploring personal views on key business issues which provokes debate amongst relevant audience.
It is recognised that in an ever increasingly challenging global foreign direct investment environment, being viewed as a ‘thought leader’ or ‘sector expert’ will provide companies and countries who succeed in doing so with a competitive advantage.
SE and SDI are keen to:
a. engage a global audience, in specific industry or academic sectors in order to raise Scotland’s profile as a centre of innovation and scientific leadership; and
b. identify and progress potential inward investment/sales leads towards setting up in Scotland.
The aims of this project are:
a. to secure at least 20 potential inward investment prospects (companies outside of Scotland) per event (at least 5 of which should be qualified prospects by SDI staff); and
b. to secure over 200 new company contacts to which SDI can communicate on an ongoing basis per event.
In order to achieve these aims, the successful framework suppliers will be expected to identify appropriate sector specific global target audiences, set up, promote and run approximately 6 global online Thought Leadership Events per year towards these various sector specific audiences.
The sectors focussed on include:
— life sciences,
— food & drink,
— energy,
— electronic technologies,
— creative industries,
— financial & business services,
— tourism,
— chemicals,

— textiles.
The events will also be recorded and be available as online presentations/podcasts.
Interested suppliers must demonstrate relevant experience to the requirements detailed above and should also have a good range of skills and experience in relation to inward investment along with sectoral knowledge.
