Description of the contract

The North Solihull Partnership LP (NSP) and Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council (SMBC), as joint employer (the Employer), are seeking to appoint a consultant(s) chartered surveying practice(s) to provide topographical services for elements of the redevelopment project known as Craig Croft Village Centre, Chelmsley Wood, Solihull. The Craig Croft Village Centre is the largest proposed Village Centre within North Solihull and it’s creation requires substantial highway improvements. The first element of this project (highway, infrastructure, public realm and enterprise centre) is part funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF). SMBC is the ‘accountable body’ for the ERDF contract and therefore this will be a joint appointment between SMBC and the NSP. SIP is the Development Manager on behalf of the NSP. The Village Centre and associated highway works have been the subject of redesign and different funding applications over several years. In 2009, outline planning consent was granted for a Village Centre scheme. Whilst this planning consent still remains live, the latest Village Centre layout requires substantial material amendments to the consented scheme and therefore a new hybrid planning application must be submitted. A topographical survey has been carried out previously however in order to work up detailed design solutions for the highway infrastructure and the enterprise centre, more survey information is required. The physical areas that need to be surveyed are shown on plans that form part of the tender documentation. The survey information is required to inform the detailed design work for the Village Centre and Chester Road.
