To seek innovation, exemplar and practice designs for this important space which will reflect this history of the space whilst looking forward to the future and linking it to other areas of the town.
The aim of the Ipswich Cornhill Regeneration Project is to produce a high quality design and revitalisation of this ‘central square’ area which will result in the area being the main activity hub of the town centre and link it to other areas of the town. The council is seeking experienced design–led professional teams or consortia to submit proposals for the Cornhill.
The selected consultants will be invited to submit proposals for the design and delivery of the project, which will be considered by an evaluation panel who will make recommendations to the council for the award of prizes for the best submission and the second and third best submissions received.
The contract awarded to the successful tenderer will include the following services:
– urban design,
– architecture,
– structural engineer,
– quantity surveyor,
– contract administrator services,
– lighting design,
– public consultation services,
– mechanical and electrical engineering,
– building surveying,
– building conservation,
– acoustic engineer,
– full, accurate & measured utilities surveys (to be provided to constructor),
– land and level survey,
– current acoustic and lighting surveys,
– public user surveys and opinion polls,
– advice and guidance on funding applications to achieve full funding for the proposed scheme,
– contract administrator duties,
– pre and post construction cost advice (including cost estimates),
– full detailed designs.
