TRAIN, LEARN, DRIVE AND EARN PROGRAMME
None
TfGM wishes to select suppliers to participate in the Train, Learn, Drive and Earn (TLDE) programme and is managing this procurement process in accordance with the Public Contracts Regulations 2006 (the “Regulations”) and its subsequent amendments.
The programme is designed to offer specialist training in either; driving or warehousing (furniture handling and recycling) as well as general admin skills.
Job Centre Plus will be engaged to refer potential trainees, based on criteria developed by TfGM, reflecting license requirements and minimum length of unemployment, and to offer support to the trainees to secure employment once the course has been completed. The course is designed to ensure welfare benefits are protected, with a maximum training period of 16 hours per week; trainees will not receive payment for participation in the programme.Potential trainees will meet with the Project Coordinator and their designated Delivery Partner and their suitability and enthusiasm for the course will be established (working to mitigate the 40% drop-out rate estimated by Job Centre Plus). Once a trainee is accepted on to the programme they will sign up to a code of conduct with their host operator.

At least 40 trainees are expected to complete the training programme by 31 March 2015.
