Wales and West Utilities Ltd. (WWU) operates an intensive training programme for all staff. Requirements include but are not limited to:
NVQ customer service.
NVQ business administration.
Fork lift truck: telehandler.
MEB: mains equipotential bonding.
Winter contingency driving.
EUSR: CSCS: SHEA gas passport.
Pipe electro fusion.
Scaffold/working at heights.
HGV & CE driver.
ACS units for gas safe.
NRSWA: all units, operatives and supervisors.
CPC: certificate of professional competency.
GNO:Gas Network operative (QCF).
Typical qualifications/awarding bodies are:
NPORS: national plan operatives registration scheme.
City & Guilds.
EURS: energy & utility skills register.
Lantra awards: off-road driving.
Training requirements and volumes based on training needs analysis and training plan produced annually. Therefore these requirements will vary on an annual basis.
WWU intends to engage with a single provider to manage the overall provision of these services through subcontracted training agencies (in some cases specified by WWU, but WWU will also expect a managed supply chain of training providers to be available).

Applicants responding to this Notice, who satisfy the conditions as indicated in Section III, will be invited to take part in a comprehensive tender process. This tender process will determine whether applicants can provide an economically advantageous service to the client, which may lead to an award of contract. Applicants must provide details of a single point of contact including an electronic mail address that will be used for further communications. Any communications from applicants, including the request to participate, must be by electronic mail or letter to the address shown in I.1. Applicants are advised that the contract duration indicated in II.3. is an indicative period under consideration. The dates and associated conditions will be stipulated in the invitation to tender. Applicants should note that Wales and West Utilities employ an eSourcing system and all participants will be required to use this system whilst tendering. This period allows unsuccessful tenderers to seek further debriefing from the contracting authority before the contract is entered into. Applicants have 2 working days from notification of the award decision to request additional debriefing and that information has to be provided a minimum of 3 working days before expiry of the standstill period.
