Description

Leicester City Council are currently seeking suitable organisation to design and deliver a One Day De Bono’s Lateral Thinking™ course which will be required up to four times a year.

The course would be designed for:
Service or operational managers; Heads of Service and other senior directors of the authority, but may be open to other LCC professionals

Course duration we would expect:
1 day up to 4 times per year

Course Venue
Training events would be conducted at Leicester City Council premises

Course Objective
We are looking for an accredited training provider to deliver the trade marked Lateral Thinking™ course. We recognise that Lateral Thinking™ is about the following and would expect, therefore, that these elements would be addressed within the training:
• seeking to solve problems by apparently illogical means
• a process and willingness to look at things in a different way
• a type of thinking that complements analytical and critical thinking not part of our mainstream education
• a tool used to help individuals, companies and teams solve tough problems and create new ideas, new products, new processes and new services.

Ultimately, we would expect the training to have the following effects for delegates:
• Learn to solve problems and generate new ideas to meet the challenges of the modern business environment.
• To leave the event with skills that they have practised and can apply immediately on return their return to the workplace.

What we would expect to be included as a part of the training
• Delegate handbook
• Electronic materials that might be used as a reference point post-event

What we would wish to see in the quotation and a cost breakdown of the following:
• Suggested outline of the day with sufficient detail simply to illustrate the provider’s approach
• A short profile of presenter(s) who would be delivering the training including, where appropriate, experience in this field
• Design costs
• Delivery cost per event
• Estimated travel expenses costs per event
• Where applicable meals and accommodation costs
• Two reference contacts
• Materials and printing costs per event
• Copies of insurance certificates (as per Training Providers Agreement)

This Contract allows for repeat commissions within a three-year period with options to extend for +1 years at the sole discretion of the Council.
