Leicester City Council wishes to appoint an appropriately qualified training provider for 2 x 1 day courses on the subject of Making Meetings Work.

Training is required to enable qualified and unqualified social workers who are involved in multi-agency case conferences in order to assess, allocate and monitor services delivered for adults and children. Some participants may be the lead professional in the conferences, however all staff must understand the range of tasks and responsibilities and how to manage, record and evaluate them. An understanding of how to manage expectations and dynamics is also necessary. This training must be relevant to CAF, Core Group, Case Conference, and Think Family meetings.

Target Group: Adult and Children’s Social Care Staff

Number of staff to be trained per event: 20

Number and length of events: 2 x 1 day course

Dates if known: between September 2013 and March 2014

Venue if known: Leicester City Centre venue

Participants will have:
. Considered what makes an effective meeting and the role of the chair in facilitating this.
. Identified key tasks for meetings and how these might be allocated and managed.
. Explored the importance of attending to both the process and the tasks of the meeting and how these can be facilitated to ensure the client’s needs remain central.
. Explored how group processes and dynamics can impact on the effectiveness of meetings.
. Explored strategies for promoting helpful group processes and dynamics and ways that unhelpful dynamics and processes maybe challenged.
. Had an opportunity to practice and reflect on own meeting, facilitating and chairing skills.
. Identified how they will apply these skills to supporting behaviour change in their own work.

Responses will be assessed on a criterion which includes Quality and Price. Detail of which are provided within the RFQ document. Interview Dates if required will be w/c 5th August 2013.
