Description

Leicester City Council wishes to appoint a training organisation to deliver competence based courses that covers assessment of all the key elements in the New Road and Streetworks Act (NRSWA). This is the City and Guilds accredited

The organisation shall provide the following as part of the competence based courses:

Operative units
•Unit 001 – Avoidance of underground apparatus incorporating plans, diagrams, apparatus, use of equipment
•Unit 002 – Signing, lighting and guarding, code of practice, co-ordination procedures
•Unit 003 – Excavation in the highway, Road types, materials, specifications and techniques
•Unit 004 – Reinstatement and compaction of backfill
•Unit 005 – Reinstatement of sub-base and road base in non-bituminous materials. Road types, specification, material types
•Unit 006 – Reinstatement of cold-lay bituminous materials. Types of materials, specification, laying practices.
•Unit 007 – Reinstate Bituminous hot lay, check material temperature. Check depth of cavity. Tools heated, place materials to required finish levels, select correct compaction plant.
•Unit 009 – Reinstate modular surfaces and concrete footways. Remove existing surfaces and clean modules. Rectify any defects in the sub-base. Place bedding material and screed. Compact to the required levels. Complete concrete surfaces to the required finish.
Supervisors units
•Unit 001 – as above.
•Unit 010 – Monitoring of signing, lighting and guarding, code of practice, co-ordination, procedures
•Unit 011 – Monitoring of excavation in the highway. Road types, materials, specifications, procedures
•Unit 012 – Monitoring of reinstatement and compaction of backfill
•Unit 013 – Monitoring reinstatement of sub-base and road base in non-bituminous materials. Road types, specification, material types
•Unit 014 – Monitoring reinstatement of bituminous materials. Types of materials, specifications, laying techniques
•Unit 016 – Monitoring reinstatement of modular surfaces and concrete footways.

The Training will be required frequently and the council will call upon the winning provider to deliver as and when required.

The successful organisation must be able to train both Operatives and Supervisors on both New (5 days) and Renewals (2 days) courses. There might be candidates with learning difficulties at times as well

On completion of the courses, the organisation must provide certificates to the successful delegates, along with notifying Leicester City Council of the full results of these competent based courses. In the first instance Organisations wishing to apply must be CITY and GUILDS Accredited with qualified and experienced tutors please provide copies of accreditations with the Quotation.

Only quotations on the form below will be accepted. However, any supporting documents will be considered.

– All prices should have a breakdown of costs and to include any test material, text books, Street Works Qualification Register cards, Photos, postage and any other on-costs if these are supplied.
– Organisations are asked to include prices for any refreshments and lunch etc if this applies.
– Venue for the location be in Leicester preferably (please state the arrangement and cost in the RFQ below).
