Description of the goods or services required

NHS Education Scotland is seeing a Supplier to provide an Educational Resource in Psychological Care that can be used by NHS Scotland Staff working with people with learning disabilities.

The Educational Resource will be in the form of a document training programme that will provide a solid understanding of how psychological theory and practice is used to help people with learning disabilities. The Resource will include general approaches and models of care, common problems experiences by people with learning disability, management planning, and also include a range of learning activities such as case studies, scenario based, relective, quizzes and assessment activities.

The Educational Resource will enable participants to increase their ability to be “phychologically minded”, developing a more psychological perspective as part of their day to day work and to be “phsychologically literate”, increasing understanding of the theories and models underpinning practice.

Total quantity or scope of tender

Development of narrative resources. It is brought to the attention of potential bidders that NHS Education Scotland will retain all Intellectual Property Rights associated with the Educational Resource provided, along with any subsequent reports and associated materials.

There is a maximum budget of £15,000 excluding VAT for this project.

Bidders will be evaluated on the basis of the proposals quality and best value for money.

Commencement of the project will be early September 2013 and completion of the final version of the Educational Resource will be early January 2014.
