Description of the contract
This requirement is being advertised as a Part B Service. The Value of £100k to £120k is indicative of the income that may be generated from running the course which in turn will cover the costs of running this ‘not for profit’ venture. English Heritage (EH) in partnership with the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh (RBGE), are seeking to appoint a specialist horticultural training provider to deliver the formal training element of a new two-year work based placement horticultural traineeship. The new traineeship model, the Historic and Botanic Trainee Programme (HBGTP), builds on the experiences gained through 6 years delivery of the Historic and Botanic Garden Bursary Scheme (HBGBS). An application to the Heritage Lottery Fund’s (HLF) ‘Skills for the Future Programme’ is currently being developed to secure grant funding to run the new programme, which is supported by the Royal Horticultural Society, the National Trust, the Royal Parks Agency, Lee Valley Parks Agency, the Professional Gardeners Guild, Lantra and other sector partners. The grant application will be submitted in December 2013 for project start February 2014 and delivery of first formal study blocks in December 2014.
