Description of the contract

The Trust is looking for proposals and costs for the delivery of a skills development programme to support the roll-out of the new Performance Management approach. The desired outcomes of any changes to the performance management system: 1. To create greater alignment of objectives across the Trust and down the management/clinical structure 2. To drive greater individual accountability and greater focus on measurable outcomes, making performance assessment explicit (eg ratings) 3. To propose an incentives framework that rewards excellent achievement and recognizes positive contribution and desirable behaviours (the what and the how) 4. To create a process which encourages staff to raise their performance year on year to keep pace with increased expectations from service users and commissioners 5. To make development planning and execution more meaningful, providing greater support to individuals and managers to use development interventions effectively We are looking for an external provider with expertise in this area to assist us with the following: 1. To provide the design and delivery on the development interventions for managers with regard to: • Having difficult performance conversations • Giving appropriate feedback • Coaching for improved performance 2. To possibly work with us to help design some of the content for the other development interventions to support the roll-out. The expectation is that we will provide skills development for both managers and staff in areas such as standard setting and writing measurable objectives.
