Description

Assessing Effectiveness and Competency in Safeguarding Children Practice

Leicester City and Leicestershire and Rutland Safeguarding Boards are working in partnership to launch the new strategy to support organisations, practitioners and volunteers across the three authorities.

The project and schedule of work will be deliverable from late Spring 2014 – March 31st 2015.
The project and delivery will reflect some of the recent changes and planned changes to key legalisation/significant guidance and research (i.e. Ofsted Inspection Framework), it is expected that the course materials will reflect any local or national changes, so as to remain current and relevant.

It will involve the following:

1 Development & Delivery of up to 8 x 1 day learning events (and associated learning materials) under the theme of ‘Assessing Effectiveness and Competency in Children’s Safeguarding Practice.’

2 The provider will have a flexible approach and be able to respond and adapt sessions (in agreement with the commissioner) to respond to the emerging needs of the implementation plan. There has been a considerable amount of planning and preparation work leading up to the launch of the new strategy, and planning for blocks and challenges, however it is anticipated that there will be emerging issues and requirements which will need to be considered as the strategy is implemented post April 2014.

3 The provider would also need to work to the local standards and expectations of the multi-agency programme, (Multi Agency Partnership agreement) which ensures consistency, and will also support the provider in the delivery. This includes completion of the appropriate supporting administrative documentation. In addition to this the provider will be expected to meet the Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland Best Practice Guidance for safeguarding training.
