Reference to project(s) and/or programme(s): This tender has reference to a previous project. The installation of a Biomass Boiler Project reference — CR2012/728*.
Stoke-on-Trent City Council is 1 of 13 partners in ARBOR — a project to accelerate the use of biomass fuel across Europe. ARBOR is 50 % funded by the European Regional Development Fund through the Interreg IVb NWE Programme, the remaining 50 % match-funding is provided by the 13 partners.
As part of ARBOR, the City Council has sought to establish a closed-loop biomass supply chain within the City and therefore wishes to retain the biomass material generated through the provision of this service.

The contract covers the provision of a tree maintenance service carrying out safety related work and statutory clearances. It also includes the removal of wood by the service provider to a site within the boundary of Stoke-on-Trent for the Authority to use.
