Midland Heart has a requirement for tree surgery services across a number of locations in the Midlands. The contract will be divided into 9 lots with a single supplier awarded to each.
All tree work requested within this contract will be as a result of a condition survey which was completed in early 2013, or as a direct result of a tree or group of trees failing. Although there is no guarantee of work, the completed condition survey has identified that the following work is to be completed by the successful supplier/s;
Year 1 – Urgent Works,
Year 2 – Non Urgent Works, and
Year 3 – General Tidying Works.
The condition survey and a general schedule of tree works will be made available during the tender stage.
Suppliers will be asked as part of the contract to provide rates for various tree works and day works prices that will be based on the British Standards for tree works general recommendations.

Lot 3 – Rugby and Warwick, Coventry;
Lot 4 – Dudley, Walsall, Wolverhampton;

Lot 6 – South Staffordshire, Stafford, Stoke on Trent;

Precise information on deadline(s) for lodging appeals: The authority will incorporate a minimum 10 calendar day standstill period at the point information on the award of the contract is communicated to tenderers. This period allows unsuccessful tenderers to seek further debriefing from the contracting authority before the contract is entered into. Applicants have 2 working days from notification of the award decision to request additional debriefing and that information has to be provided a minimum of 3 working days before expiry of the standstill period. Such additional information should be requested from the address of the contracting authority of this contract notice. If an appeal regarding the award of a contract has not been successfully resolved the public contract regulations 2006 (SI 2006 No 5) provide aggrieved parties who have been harmed or at risk of harm by a breach of the rules to action in the high court (England, Wales and Northern Ireland). Any such action must be brought promptly. Where a contract has been entered into the court may order the setting aside of the award decision or order the authority to amend any document and may award damages.
