Description of the contract

In order to meet the changing needs of the Community Learning Service, Lincolnshire County Council (LCC) intends to enter into agreement with appropriately qualified Tutors/Teachers for the delivery of Family Learning provision. Family Learning contributes to initiatives outlined in ‘New Challenges, New Chances’. Further Education and Skills System Reform Plan: Building a World Class Skills System (BIS, Department for Business, Innovation and Skills, 1 December 2011). Family Learning is a national programme established to help parents and carers support their children’s learning whilst improving their own literacy and/or numeracy skills. Parents and carers with low literacy/numeracy skills are a priority group and their learning needs can be easily addressed through Family Learning courses. Courses are delivered in schools, community centres, children’s centres and Lincoln Prison. These courses range from 1-week short, kick-start workshops of 3-hours duration, to 18-week long courses of 66 hours. All courses offer accreditation.
