It is foreseen that the additional floors will be provided through the use of modular pod construction. It is predicted that construction works will commence in September 2012 (to be confirmed). The works will also include the following items, regarding the existing asset:
— creation of a new social hub space within the existing basement student common room,
— refurbishment of 20 existing shared kitchens,
— replacement of the lift to an enhanced standard,
— improvements to the main entrance area,
— incorporation of Long Term Maintenance (LTM) works into the project for the existing building.
