Description of the contract
UK Trade & Investment is the Government Department that helps UK based companies succeed globally and assists overseas’ companies to bring investment to the UK. It brings together the export development and inward investment work of its parent UK government departments, the department for Business Innovation and Skills (BIS) and the Foreign and Commonwealth Offfice.The contract would be let by BIS. The requirement will be to outsource the delivery of UKTI’s International Trade Services to businesses in the English regions to contractors, on a regional basis. UKTI is seeking contractors to provide UKTI trade services and any associated European Funded international trade projects in the 9 English regions. The duration of the contracts to be awarded will be five years, with the option on the part of UKTI only to extend by up to a further one year. For the purpose of this tender UKTI will be inviting bids against 9 Lots. This requirement is being procured as a Part B Service following treaty principles.

The lowest value in the range reflects the lowest amount of funding under the existing contract arrangements. The highest estimated value reflects the amount UKTI considers might be required to deliver if a range of potential initiatives come to fruition, e.g. embedding digital advisers into UKTI’s regional teams to support e-exporting activity and facilitating regional engagement with developing overseas business networks. The level of funding currently deployed in 2014/15 is approximately midway between the highest and lowest figures set out above. However, organisations expressing an interest in qualifying for this work need to be aware that: 1) UKTI currently has a confirmed budget allocation only for 2015/16 2) Future levels of funding for this contract will be subject to future Governments continuing to fund UKTI 3) Future funding levels for these contracts will depend on UKTI continuing to fund a regional ITA network. This requirement is being procured as a Part B Service following treaty principles.
