The V&A is seeking proposals for the design, content and production and printing of the V&A magazine and the introduction of an online version. The magazine is expected to be published 3 times a year in June, October and February.

II.2.4)Description of the procurement:

The average number of magazines printed in 2018-2019 was between 90 000-120 000 copies, although no guarantee of volume is made.

We are looking for a publisher who can design, produce all content and deliver the production of the magazine to the best quality, but also coordinate advertising sales and facilitate the printing and delivery of the V&A Magazine to the V&A Membership’s mailing house. This may also include the production and print — or co-ordination of — advertising inserts, leaflets and vouchers.

The successful contractor/publisher should drive the following three outcomes:

1) Enticing design,

2) Economic benefits for the V&A through a percentage share of advertising profits,

3) Transparency regarding the cost of design and production of the magazine.

Description of options:

The contract has the option for the number of magazines and editions of magazines to be varied. The quantity to be printed for each run is dependent on the membership numbers at the V&A and the V&A makes no guarantee of volume. The contract is for a maximum of 5 years with break clauses and a voluntary termination period at the V&A’s sole discretion.
