Description of the goods or services required

We are looking for an ICT consultant or firm to manage an ICT project to help us to achieve a “Virtual Office” where our support staff, team leaders and service leaders have access to the services and resources they require to carry out their roles to the best of their capability in a seamless and instant fashion. Their focus should be the people they support and connecting them with the community – not congregating in a central office. We do not wish to have our Central Office seen as the “centre of the PFI universe”, we should be invisible and supportive in the best way we can. We don’t not want staff wasting time and money travelling to the office when they can access the information or resources they require via Information and Communications Technology.

Total quantity or scope of tender

To manage and deliver an ICT project to deliver a Virtual Office.

Partners for Inclusion have, for some time now, been considering the way forward with regard to their ICT systems and processes presently used and what is required for the future. The attached paper has been written to set out where we are now and where we would like to be in the future and is intended to define the scope of the project that we are putting out to tender in order to achieve our future vision.

Partners have different levels of need from IT systems:

– there is a need at the ‘coal face’ level to ensure smooth running of the organisation,

– there is a need at the individual level by some of the people supported by the organisation

– there is a need at a macro level in respect of Partners aims to support the growth and development of new organisations (presently there are 2 organisations receiving some levels of support from Partners, Beyond Limits and Just Connections. So it is a multi-layered, extensive set of needs that the organisation is looking to technology to offer solutions.)

Some time ago Partners engaged Glasgow Caledonian University (GCU) to carry out a piece of research looking at possible solutions for how staff at the ‘coal face’ communicate and if existing paper systems could be replaced by electronic solutions. The report from this piece of research is also uploaded for information purposes.
