Description of the contract
Royal Mail Group (RMG) is seeking to appoint a panel of suitable suppliers to provide warehousing and logistics services to RMG and/or its customers. The panel will operate in a similar manner to a qualification system, in that suppliers may be appointed to the panel at any time during its concurrency. Only those suppliers able to meet RMG’s minimum selection criteria, evaluated on a pass/fail basis, will be admitted to the panel. The contracts will be awarded based on the most economically advantageous tender. Specific call-off contracts will be awarded following individual tenders (via Royal Mails e-sourcing system) or similar.The panel will operate for a period of 5 years, with a possible extension (2 or 1+1) of up to 7 years in total. RMG anticipates each individual call-off contract to be for a minimum of 3 years (36 months) but could be extended on an annual basis for up to 7 years duration , with an estimated value of £3m to £9m per contract. There is no limit to the number of call-off contracts which may be awarded by RMG via the panel. The estimated contract values are provided as indications only. RMG cannot guarantee any business through the panel and no guarantee is given that any call-off contracts will subsequently be awarded via the Panel. RMG’s minimum selection criteria will include: 1. Evidence of significant expertise of delivering warehousing services, equal to at least £3 million per annum, in relevant logistics sectors such as retail, energy, government, technology and/or defence; 2. Shared user multi-site warehouse facilities within the UK 3. An annual turnover of at least £35 million*. 4. Experienced 3Pl operator 5. Warehouse Management System (WMS) 6. Pick/Pack order capability 7. Reverse Logistics capability 8. Re-cycling capability 9. Acceptance of RMG’s terms & conditions, without amendment * For large contracts we reserve the right to make a further qualification assessment which may include a financial capacity assessment.
