Description
1. Maintenance of Watercourses Scope of works includes; • Clearance of rubbish and blockages from watercourses, (rubbish to be removed and taken to Waste Transfer Station, Denby Dale Road, Wakefield.) • Excavation of Silt and disposal of silt on watercourse bank. • Removal of trees and vegetation from within and on banks of Watercourse. • Periodic clearance of Grilles and removal of rubbish to tip. 2. Flood Alleviation Schemes Scope of works includes; • Creation of minor flood alleviation ponds involving the excavation and filling of material to create ponds. • Construction of outfall/inlet headwalls • Construction of outflow/inflow weirs • Other associated small construction works including retaining walls, pipework and manholes. 3. Scheme maintenance Scope of works includes; • Removal of rubbish • Desilting ponds and removal of vegetation • Removal of overhanging vegetation • Repairs and maintenance of inlet/outlet structures. • Repairs and maintenance of walls and other structures 4. Emergency works Scope of works includes; • Emergency response to flooding problems • Clearance of grilles during flooding incidents • Availability 24hrs a day, seven days a week The overall budget for this type of work is up to the region of £500,000.00 per year, the works will be split amongst numerous low value task orders as noted in the tender docu.
