II.1.5)Short description of the contract or purchase(s)

Rhondda Cynon Taf County Borough Council (on behalf of the Welsh Purchasing Consortium) are establishing a framework agreement which will cover cyclical electrical maintenance of non-domestic properties for services including the Periodic Inspection and Testing of Electrical Installations, Portable appliance testing (PAT), Fire Alarms and Emergency Lighting. The framework has been split into lots which have been further regionally split for the authorities that have initially expressed an interest in using the framework as detailed in the documents. The framework is also available for use for associated works. The duration of the framework agreement will be for a period of 3 years with an option to extend for up to 1 year. The procurement process will follow a two-stage open procedure. A number of tenderers will be short-listed per lot from selection stage to tender stage as specified in the documents.

It is envisaged a number of contractors will be appointed to the framework as detailed in the contract documents. The framework will be used in accordance with the procedures listed in the tender document.

The procurement process will be conducted via the Alito Procurement Portal and any organisation wishing to express an interest, access the tender documents and tender must do so via this portal. Precise information on deadline(s) for lodging appeals: The lead authority will notify candidates of whether or not they have been successful in accordance with the provisions of Regulations 32 and 32(A) of the Public Contracts Regulations 2006 and will hold a mandatory 10-day standstill period.
