Description of the contract

The provider must provide a comprehensive medical instrument sterilisation and packing service for Medical Centres in APHCS Wessex Region and Land Forces Units. Units require items and small packs of medical equipment to be clinically sterilised when supplied by them to the Contractor for this purpose. Units may demand services as and when necessary. Provision of items that are missing from sets shall be the responsibility of the demanding unit. The Contractor shall notify the unit as soon as he is aware that item(s) are required. Demands for APHCS Medical Centres shall be picked up from the demanding Medical Centre’s premises and delivered back to the same location. Land Forces Units shall be responsible for delivery of items to the Contractor’s premises and for collection from the Contractor’s premises when notified that they are ready. The following services shall be required: Processing, sterilising and packing instrumentation. Contract management, including but not limited to all liaison, correspondence, provision of Management information (MI) and attendance at meetings including biannual contract review. All services are to be to the following Quality Standards: Directive MDD 93/42/EEC, RG2 with Medical Devices Agencies, EM 46002, CE Marked, Medical Device Manufacture Registered BS/EN/ISO9001:2000 standards.
