Description of the goods or services required

The works comprise the removal and replacement of existing windows within 3-storey blocks of flats with new double glazed timber windows along with ancillary works for joinerwork finishings internally around window ingoes, painting to the joinerwork finishings around ingoes and silicone pointing around window frames externally and internally

Total quantity or scope of tender

Replacement windows to 159nr Council flats and common stairwell windows to 39nr tenements – approximate total number of windows being installed is 1000nr. Approximate estimated works value in the price band of 500,000 – 1,000,000 GBP

3 Conditions for Participation

It is a specific condition for participation that at the date of tender the tendering organisation status on Constructionline must be active and be registered for a works category type applicable to a window replacement contract and for a category value exceeding the lowest estimated works value of this windows replacement contract.

Additional Information

The successful Tenderer is required to take all reasonable steps to employ apprentices and report to the Contract Administrator the

numbers of apprentices employed and wider skills training during the contract.

The successful Tenderer shall take all reasonable steps to ensure that up to 5% of the employees, or that a similar

specified proportion of hours worked in delivering the contract, (which may include support staff and sub-contractors) are to be

delivered by an employee on a formal apprenticeship programme.

The successful Tenderer is required to make available to its employees working on the contract, information about the

Government’s Apprenticeship programme wider skills opportunities.

The successful Tenderer shall provide any appropriate further

skills training opportunities for employees delivering the contract.

The successful Tenderer shall provide a written report when requested detailing the following measures:

a) The number of people during the reporting period employed on the contract, including support staff and


b) The number of apprentices and number of new starts on apprenticeships directly initiated through the procurement


c) The percentage of all employees taking part in apprenticeship programmes.

d) If applicable, an explanation from the successful Tenderer as to why they are not managing to meet the specified

percentage target.

e) Actions being taken to improve the take-up of apprenticeships.

f) Other training/ skills development being undertaken by employees in relation to this contract, including:

– Work experience placements for 14 – 16 year olds

– Work experience/ work trial placements for older ages

– Student/ sandwich gap year placements

– Graduate placements

– Vocational training

– Basic skills training

– On site training provision/ facilities
