Description of the goods or services required

North Ayrshire Council invites tenders for delivery of Work Experience Programme and Employer Engagement services for North Ayrshire Council Education and Skills. The contract is expected to run for 30 months commencing Tuesday, 1 January 2013 and ending on Tuesday, 30 June 2015.

Schools are required to provide an appropriate Work Experience placement to all pupils during the Senior Phase of their Education. In most cases this will be a one week placement in the fourth year (S4) of secondary education, however as the new curriculum (Curriculum for Excellence) becomes fully embedded in schools, there will be increased demand for more personalised experiences which may take place at any point during the third and sixth years of school (S3 – S6). This could, for example, mean that a more senior pupil could have a work experience placement consisting of an afternoon a week over a period of time with an employer.

There is an expectation that schools will engage with local business & employers.

The successful service provider will provide various services in support of these objectives.
