Description

The Leicestershire Social Care Development Group (LSCDG) is a partnership of private, voluntary and statutory sectors. Its purpose is to provide funding, training and development for their workforce including Managers and workers across Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland.

The LSCDG is attempting to source a proven supplier to deliver the provision of skills development for both carers and professionals working in partnership with these organisations. These may be individuals, charitable organisations, social enterprises or private companies. The core service delivery is for the training of social care workers in:

o Working more effectively in partnership with carers
o Effectively identifying the support networks available to carers
o Being able to develop effective Carer’s Assessments where appropriate
o Understanding the importance of involving families
o Support and specialist training as requested for both social care workers and carers.

The aim of this procurement is to successfully source a quality provider of the development activity for an interim period of 12 months, with an option to extend for a further period or periods up to 12 months.

The objectives of the service delivery are to:

o Improve knowledge of staff and carers in the community
o Improve stress management and coping mechanisms for carers
o Develop informal support networks for carers

The significance of the third objective should not be underestimated and as such there is an expectation that solutions proposed will be delivered face to face by the successful provider. Purely online or electronic solutions are not considered suitable for delivery of the service.

The provider will be responsible for both development of the training content and provision of materials and evaluation of the success of the training.

This opportunity will suit specialist suppliers, agencies or organisations that have a proven track record of working with and and / or supporting carers.
